Genesee County, Michigan has a lot of bats! They thrive in Flint, Fenton, Flushing, Grand Blanc and Davison.
Some people are scared to death of bats. They creep many people right out. Even those of us that don’t mind dealing with bats are entitled to an increased pulse rate when one is flying around our bedroom at 2:00 in the morning!
I am a bat removal expert. I have taken bats out of living rooms, bedrooms, basements and kitchens, walls, and attics. I work all hours of the day (and night!) and have seen people move right out of their home because a bat is flying around inside.
Unless a lone bat has accidentally flown in the house through an open door or window, chances are it is living in the walls or attic. Somehow it got confused, followed a fresh air current, and wound up in the living quarters. As much as people try to convince themselves that it is the only bat living in their home, chances are very good that there are more where that one came from. As you probably know, bats are friendly creatures and usually live in colonies. One bat does not make a colony!
Bats do a lot of good. They eat gazillions of bugs and mosquitoes each year. They belong on the outside of your house. If you find one inside your home, you probably need to hire someone with expertise in Bat Removal.
Some Bat Control companies offer free inspections. Others charge for their time and expertise. I have found that nobody will take the time to drive to your house, take up to two hours doing a detailed inspection of every nook and cranny and gap in your house, and then not make that money up somewhere. Free is not always in your best interest.
Company A charges a flat fee for bat inspections. They inspect every inch of your home, inside and out. This takes considerable time and effort. When they are done they present you with an informative report on all the areas of your home that are being used by bats or are vulnerable to being used by bats. You know the exact damage that has been done by bats. You know what you need to do to get rid of the bats and to keep the bats away. You know what cleanup is recommended and health hazards that may have been created. You will be advised on how to get rid of the bats and what Company A charges for each service provided.
Company B agrees to give a free inspection. They get in their vehicle and drive to your house. They take time out of their day to give it to you. When they arrive, they do a once over around the exterior of the house. Rarely is a ladder used outside to actually look for the points of entry. Then they climb up into the attic. They find some bat guano and come down and declare that you have a colony living up there. They quote you a price to get rid of the bats. Most times these quotes are sky high. If they get one taker out of four inspections, they have made their money back for all the ‘free’ inspections. In the meantime, you are stunned with such a huge price and are no more knowledgeable about the bat situation than you were before you got your free estimate.
As you can probably tell, my wildlife control company charges for bat inspections. We guide homeowners through the bat removal process and encourage them to save money by taking our recommendations and implementing them. Sometimes homeowners opt to do it all themselves and we are happy to guide them every step of the way. Other times, homeowners want us to do all the work. Either way, because of the detailed inspection that we have provided, they know every gap in their house that will be sealed.
Getting bats out of houses isn’t rocket science. It is however a lot of work and takes time. If a bat has found its way inside your home, call a professional, get educated, and get the bats out!

Quality Bat Removal That’s Safe
We had a bad bat infestation recently, and was at a loss as to how to get rid of them without harming them. These guys came out and took care of the bat removal for us, removing them easily and without harm.
Bat removal in New Orelans and Baton rouge is really picking up so make sure your house is secure. Start by going around to each of the verticle walls and check for cracks and crevices, especially if you found a bat in the house.
Has anyone had any experience with bat removal? My parents’ house is being occupied by at least 75+ bats. We counted 75 flying out of the eves of the house tonight. They aren’t in the attic, which is a good thing.

Finding bats in a house usually isn’t the problem for most people. Getting rid of them, however, can prove to be a completely different story. If you take the time to check out your entire home and watch for telltale signs of a bat infestation, though, finding them can be easy. For example, listen for weird noises at night, and watch for things that look out of place. Check your home for any gaps, even as small as inch in width, because bats can fit into very small spaces. Check your attic for bat guano, or droppings, to see if there is any evidence of a bat party going on in your attic.
There are many different things to consider when it comes to bat proofing your home. You should take the time to think about what you want and need from a bat control service, as well as how serious you are about taking care of the bat problems in your home. Of course, if you’ve never had a bat problem, you might not think it is as big of a deal as people who have. Or perhaps you are aware of the seriousness of the issue and want to prevent your family from being affected by it before it happens.
Having bats in your home is dangerous enough in and of itself. Having those bats leave their toxic droppings all over the place can add another level of danger to your family’s health and well being. That’s why it’s essential to take bat guano clean up very seriously. A little soap and water isn’t quite going to do the trick. You could use bleach or other household cleaners to kill the bacteria and clean up the mess, but you could still miss something that could make your family ill simply by breathing the air in your home.
Bats, like most animals, follow the path of least resistance. They flourish in areas abundant in food, shelter, and the absence of predators. If you live in an area that is uniquely habitable for any particular species of bat, don’t be surprised if they try and move in.
